An Austin Kid
I was born and raised on music and breakfast tacos, by a family that saw my potential in science. For college, I went further south and received my B.S. in physics at Texas State University at San Marcos. After showing promise in research- a rare opportunity for an undergraduate- I decided to apply for Ph.D. programs and completed my doctorate in physics at the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2016. With my rich experience in quantitative research, numerical analysis and programming, I was career ready. However…
While in school for my Bachelor’s degree, I also studied music at Texas State. There I met trained opera singers who were building their own brand of Americana music. The band Blue Water Highway formed and started to show some serious promise. I played in the band all while working towards my Ph.D. and upon graduation, with PhD in hand, I hit the road with the band. We’ve traveled all over the US and Europe playing our own music, and even opened for Bob Seger on his farewell tour!
After over a decade of being on the road, I’ve learned that a band is a business. Operating as business manager, creative director, and LLC owner, I’ve developed strategies that built customer satisfaction and profits while maintaining artistic integrity and motivational spirit. With a myriad of obstacles to overcome, I’ve found a quick and fearless problem solver in myself. Whether it’s data analysis, video editing, accounting, audio engineering, or project & team management, I’ve proven that I will gain the skills necessary for any organization to be successful.
I work to support my beautiful wife Catherine and our son Austin, who I hope will love music and breakfast tacos as much as I do.
